My sincere condolences to the Duran family. Charlie was a very special man. His kindness, caring nature and love towards others was always present. He was especially respectful to anyone who was grieving. He was so helpful when my dad passed and I really appreciated his actions. We pray that he is rejoicing with all that have preceded him in passing. May he RIP and his family be comforted with all their fond memories. God Bless. Mercedes Ocana & family

Papa Duran was such a kind and loving father and father in law, and even after Charlie and I went ourseperate ways, papa and mama Duran always treated me with kindness and love!
Charlie and I would often stop in to say hello and papa Duran would usually greet us so warmly at their door!
Papa Duran had a very fun personality and he always had a Nick name for you!
After I had an accident near their home, Charlie was working, so I needed a ride as my tire had hit the curb when I passed out and popped the tire! So from that time forward, I became "loose wheel!"
One of the first memories I have of Papa Duran was at Charlie´s nephews wedding. It was a very fun reception with dancing and I remember Charlie had gone to the bathroom and when he came back, I was on the dance floor dancing with his dad!
After the reception, Charlie told me that he can´t remember when his dad and mom were having so much fun dancing with everyone else! It was a wonderful memory!
I remember when we had a Dutch oven "cook off " at our home, and this was a big deal with Charlie and his siblings!
There was lots of joking around as the coveted award was a cowbell! Charlie was a very good cook and he won it that day, I can´t remember what he fixed, I just remember it was delicious!
All were very good. He didn´t like his picture taken, but I would sneak one here and there, lol
I remember when I had my stroke, both mama and papa Duran came to the hospital to visit me! They always treated me as if I was part of their family! I loved how he was so devoted to Charlie´s mom and took such special care of her! He always would get a warm bath towel and put it over the shower for her for when she got out of the shower. Papa Duran was one of the hardest workers I´ve ever known, and I know where Charlie got his training from! He never retired, he worked as long as he could to make sure his sweetheart would always be taken care of!
One of my fondest memories was a trip Charlie and I made to Colorado where Charlie was born. It was one of my happiest memories with papa and mama Duran. I was able to see the humble circumstances in which Charlie, the eldest of their 6 children was born. A humble hospital, the home did not have an indoor toilet, they had to use an outhouse during that time.
Everything Papa Duran had he worked hard for it!
Love you Papa Duran, you will be missed until we meet again. Rest in paradise.
Lots of love
