Charlie lovingly called "Charlie Boy" by his mother is the fourth son born to WA and Maudie Lee Harrell James on May 29, 1949, in Ojus, Florida. As a young age, the family moved to Carver Ranches, West Park, Florida, where he started his basic education in the Broward County School Systems. Charlie attended Carver Ranches Elementary, Lanier Junior High, culminating in graduate equation with a high school diploma from Attucks High School, In Dania, FL in the class of 1978 in the last graduating class at Attucks High School.

Also, during His early years, while living in Carver Ranches, the family attended and worshipped at New Macedonia Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. It was there under the leadership of Rev. Phillips he was baptized in the Hallandale Pool.

After completing high school, Charlie continued his post high school education by attending the Sheridan Vocation Training Center. While there he became certified as a machinist. Shortly afterwards, he attended Allen University in Columbia, SC for a short time period, before returning home to pursue employment. The skills and training acquired as a certified machinist at Sheridan Vocational Center enhanced his ability to acquire work at several industries over the years. He worked at. NovaTronics, Solar Roll Shades, Scandia Industries, and Cardinal Franchise Systems Inc.

Over the years, Charlie had married twice before meeting and marrying his perfect life partner. When "Charlie met Sally," they were a perfect match, happy, fun, loving couple. They married in 1994. Even though there were no children from any of Charlie's marriages, Charlie and Sally became proud and loving foster parents for many years in Tallahassee, FL. His loving Sally preceded him in death in 2002, after which he continued to reside in Tallahassee.

To know Charlie was to love him for his fun-loving spirit. He always has something to say that would uplift everyone in his presence and always gave a helpful hand where needed. He will be missed by the Mount Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church in Tallahassee, FL where he served faithfully in the church's food distribution program for the southside community.

He also is preceded in death by his mother and father (WA. & Maudie Harold James), Brothers WA James Junior, Wayman James, Lucius Pumpkin James, and sister Mary James Lamb (Miggie).

Charlie is survived by a host of family who loved him dearly, which include brothers. Willie James of Pembroke Pines., Norman James, (Cloretha) of Orlando, FL. Sisters; Rosia James Smith (Eugene) of Miami, FL, Dorothy James of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Paulette James and Pauline Cooper of Hallandale Beach, Florida and God sisters Barbara Ann Hardemon and Marjorie Hardemon. Additionally, there are a host of nephews, nieces, great nieces, great nephews, many cousins, and family friends.

Charlie's warmth, strength, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
