Charlie Moss Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robertson County Funeral Home on Mar. 31, 2026.
Charles Monroe "Charlie" Moss was born on December 16, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to the late Albert A. and Elma Boyer Moss, and he departed this life on Monday March 30, 2026. He graduated from Ellsinore High School in 1965. He moved to Nashville to attend Nashville Auto Diesel College. This is where he met the love of his life Gloria Jean Chambliss. They were married on June 17, 1967. They raised four children together. Charlie loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was an awesome husband, Dad, and Grandpa. Charlie's family always came first in his life.

After retiring from Piedmont Natural Gas, with thirty years of service, he built several homes and tended his farm. He had to be doing something, as he could not sit still. Charlie loved to work with his hands, whether repairing or making something out of metal or wood. He loved to hunt and fish. Charlie passed on this love to his children and grandchildren. In his later years he fished on the nine-acre lake at the farm daily as he could. He raised a garden and tended his flock of chickens.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Alta Mae Fisher. Charlie is survived by his wife: Gloria Jean Moss, his daughter: Donna Moss-Smith (Duane) of Greenbrier, his sons: Melvin Moss of Ashland City, Dewayne Moss (Elizabeth) of Ashland City, and Christian Moss (Lori) of Adairville, KY, by his grandchildren: Aubrey Moss (Hassan), Dalton Moss (Peyton), Dylan Moss, and Kaleb Smith, by his great grandchildren: Brinkley Moss and Porter Moss, and by his sister: Audrey Moss Leach of Zephyrhills, FL.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams, with Hassan, Dylan, Dalton, Kaleb, Duane, and Jeremy serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
