Charlie Marcus Ritchie

Charlie was born on March 19, 1931 and passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017. Charlie was a resident of Granite Falls, North Carolina at the time of his passing. He was a 1949 graduate of St. Stephens High School, had attended Clevenger Business College. serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He was married to Rachel Starnes Ritchie. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Hooks officiating. Burial will follow at Poovey's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 ' 8:00 PM at Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Hickory. Mr. Ritchie will lie in state from 12:30 ' 1:00 PM on Friday at the church. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and church friends will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made in his honor to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1225 29th Ave. Dr., NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
