Charlie Lewis Williams, age 79, of Sulphur Lick, Kentucky, April 11, 2025 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Born in Glasgow, Kentucky on January 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Ruel Calvin and Laura Marie (Stephenson) Williams. He married Janice Young Williams on September 14, 1964, who survives. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ and was baptized on March 21, 2023.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, but was better known as Chuck and the Mayor of Sulphur Lick. Charlie was a 1964 graduate of Tompkinsville High School and was retired from the Department of Agriculture, Division of Weights and Measures where he was an Amusement Ride Inspector for 32 years.
He enjoyed farming, mowing his yard, riding up and down Sulphur Lick Road in his Kubota, buying and trading anything that he could make a dollar on and eating breakfast with the Breakfast Crew at various restaurants.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Janice Williams; daughter, Dee Dee White (David) of Sulphur Lick; granddaughter, Brittney Billingsley (Johnathan) Fountain Run; grandson, Brian Lewis White (Ashley) Sulphur Lick; great-granddaughters, Reagan Billingsley of Fountain Run, Mailey White and Macie Grace, both of Sulphur Lick; nephews, Ronnie Gearlds (Penny) of Mt. Hermon, Brandon Williams (Ashtyn) of Tompkinsville, Joey Williams of Mt. Hermon, Matt Williams (Emily) of Tompkinsville and Jimmy Hood of Tompkinsville; Nieces, Lesley Shive (Mark) of Summer Shade, Aimee Sexton (Matt) and Amber Collins (Chase) all of Edmonton, Robyn Bartley (Mark) of Tompkinsville and April Spears (Joey) of Clarksville, Tennessee; brother in law and sister in law, Jackie and Sharon Young of Edmonton; aunt, Eddie Rose Bartley of Tompkinsville and several great nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother in law, Jo Nell and Douglas Hood, brother and sister in law, Billy and Lisa Williams, sister and brother in law, Mary Rose Gearlds and Gary Gearlds, father in law and mother in law, Carl and Dorothy Young and uncle, Kenneth Bartley, and nephew Gary Lewis Gearlds.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home with burial to follow at White Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 13th from 2 to 8 PM and Monday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie's memory may be made to White Cemetery.
