Charlotte Bays

Word has been received of the death of Charlotte Bays, 77, of Geronimo, OK. Mrs. Bays passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at her home after a long illness.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.
Charlotte was born on November 18, 1947 in El Paso, TX to MSG Donald Ray and Lora Charlotte (Powers) Broughton. Her family relocated many times during her childhood for her father's Army career, living in Germany, Georgia, Texas, Kentucky, Washington State and finally Oklahoma. Charlotte finished her education in Lawton, OK. After school she worked as a waitress. Charlotte was a proud mother of her five children. Mrs. Bays enjoyed crocheting, playing with her cats, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bays is survived by her children and their spouses, James M. Mervin Jr., Lora V. Mervin, Anna R. and Johnny Christensen, William "Billy" Mervin, and Donnie and Tina L. Nichols; her sisters and brother in law, Gloria Woodridge and Donna and Donnie Burk; her grandchildren and their spouses, Charles "CJ" and Kristina Mervin, Jacob A. Mervin, Delbert "Carl" and Megan Dye, Rosezetta and Matthew Busick, Johnny Christensen Jr. and wife Rachel, Earnest "Earnie" Christensen, Donald and Brittany Christensen, Rachel Christensen and Philip Tucker, Lakisha and Raymond Hamilton, Samatha and Matthew Bowman, Brittany and Cole Davis, Blake and Makenna Nichols, and Tierra Nichols; her step granddaughters, Corline and Ashley; her great grandchildren, Jude, Alice, Cayson, River, Elizabeth, James, Stephen, Isaac, Kyson, McKinsi, Philip, Charlotte "Lainey", Kelsey, Alabama, Baily, Elija, Charlotte "Lottie", Matthew Jr., Paisly, Jaina, Jenna, Jack, Jake, Bryson, and Mason; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Susan; her nephew, Joey; her grandson, Charles; and her daughter in law, Susan Mervin.
