NORTH GREENBUSH - Charlotte D. Dell, 94, of North Greenbush, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born on August 27, 1931, in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Richard Howard and Gertrude Finkle.
Charlotte married the love of her life, Arthur Dell, on August 13, 1950.
An active member of the Blooming Grove Reformed Church, Charlotte found great joy in singing in the church choir. Her voice, admired by all who heard it, was an expression of her spirit; warm, strong, and full of grace.
She served her community in many ways: as a council member for the Town of North Greenbush, a longtime employee of the North Greenbush Town Court, a leader in the Rensselaer County 4-H program, and a member of the Troy Musical Arts. In every role, Charlotte brought compassion, dedication, and a deep love for those around her.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Dell; her children, Arthur Dell Jr. and Sandra Dell-Nack; and her siblings, Jaqueline Farrell and Richard Howard.
She is survived by her loving children, James Dell and Kathryn Dell-Kolakowski; her cherished granddaughter, Morgan Zhang; and her siblings, Robert Howard, William Howard, and Jean VanEpps. Her family will forever remember her not only as a pillar of strength and kindness, but as the best mom and best friend they could have ever asked for.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the W.J. Lyons Jr., Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, N.Y. 12144. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, at 10 a.m., in the Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Blooming Grove Cemetery.
