Charlotte Karen Gabriles (Weidig) passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on February 15,1949 to Elga Iola Weidig (Martin) and Robert Irving Weidig. Charlotte lived a full and vibrant life marked by a fierce love for her family, a bold entrepreneurial spirit, and a loving heart.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband Jerel Gabriles, with whom she shared 38 years of memories, adventure, and love. She was a devoted mother to Stephanie Weir (husband David Weir) and Jennifer Neel (husband Jerry Hartmann), and her legacy continues through the lives of her grandchildren: Brandon Patterson (wife Lauren White), Matthew Patterson (wife Grace Wohlschlegel), their father Clyde Patterson. Kyndzi Blackstock (husband Colbey), Kamryn Stahl (husband Kenny), Hayden Neel, Jacoby Hartmann, and Jackson Hartmann. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Dougherty (husband Bobby) and Sandra Weidig.
Her great-grandchildren brought her endless joy: Wesley Patterson, Vivian Patterson, Jonah Patterson, Greyson Stahl and Garner Stahl.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elga Iola Weidig (Martin) and Robert Irving Weidig; her sister Mary Anne Weidig; and her in-laws, Delphia (Del) Ilene Gabriles (Reeder) and George Antonio Gabriles.
A woman of many talents and an unshakable drive, Charlotte pursued several business ventures throughout her life. From being a real estate agent to running her own plant shop and soap shop, she brought creativity and care into every endeavor.
Charlotte had a deep love for her poodles JC and Lacy; she loved spending time with her family and friends and her laughter was always nearby.
She will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday July 29th from 5-7 PM and again on Wednesday July 30th from 10-11 AM at C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr., West Columbia. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Jerry Stark officiating. Interment to follow at Gulf Prairie Cemetery, Jones Creek, TX.
