HAYES, Ann, age 80, of Celina and formerly of Dayton, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the Gardens of Celina.
Ann was a member of Crosspoint Church of Christ. During the '60s and '70s, she was a member of Gem City Sweet Adelines, which she was always proud of. Sweet, caring, and loving, Ann greatly enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and music. She especially enjoyed playing the piano and loved her family. Always fond of animals, she cared for many cats during her life. Among many things, she will be remembered for her love of the color purple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Lincoln Hayes, in 1997; her parents, Ross and Chrystine Hinshaw; one brother, Kenneth Hinshaw; and one son, Francis Duane II. She is survived by her daughter, Marie (Edward) Sumpter; son, Robert (Tamra) Cunningham; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lon Hinshaw and Les (Kaye) Hinshaw; and her sister, Linda (John) Libbey.
The family will receive friends 1 - 2 PM Wednesday, July 10, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation on Wednesday at 2 PM at the funeral home, followed by a committal service at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
