Charlotte M. Padgett, age 78, of Belle passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025 at her residence surrounded by family.

Charlotte was born August 18, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, a daughter to the late Willard “Bob” and Meridith June (Welch) Thornsbrough.

On August 22, 1964, Charlotte was united in marriage to Arthur Wayne Padgett, Sr. in Tijuana, Mexico. Arthur preceded her in death on March 30, 2021.

Charlotte had been an area resident for over 40 years. She had been employed at the Brown Shoe Company in Owensville, Custom Printing in Owensville, and owned and operated the Padgett Upholstery Shop for over 20 years.

Charlotte enjoyed playing video poker and word searches, gardening, canning the bounty she collected, and loved a good cup of coffee. She was baptized Baptist when she was younger, was a strong believer, and her faith in God was strong. Charlotte loved cooking for family and friends. Her homemade sweets and her homemade pickles, or “country crunchers” as she called them, were fantastic. Charlotte always had a hug for everyone and you never left her house hungry. She enjoyed watching NCIS, SUV, and other cop shows and well as Murder She Wrote almost nightly. Charlotte was an animal lover, had many pets through the years, and raised Basset Hounds for a time. Above all, Charlotte loved the times spent with her grandbabies, great-grandbabies and the rest of her family. She will be missed tremendously by them and those who knew and loved her.

Charlotte is survived by: four children, Arthur Jr. and his wife Jeanette of Belle, Stella Mullersman and her husband Scott of Belle, Maggie Brooks and her husband Perri of Belle, and Adam and his wife Alsea of Belle; seven grandchildren, Dalton, Shelby, Ashton, Marcella, Terrack, Josiah, and Sally; three great-grandchildren, Rowan, Byron, and Serinity; one brother, Willard Thornsbrough and his wife Mellisa of Danville, IL; two sisters, Jane Brown of Oilton, OK and Dianna Thornsbrough of Roseberg, OR; and also leaves behind her beloved dog, Kitty as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband Arthur, Charlotte was preceded in death by three siblings, Sally Rowley, Bill Thornsbrough, and Beverly Rigoulot.
