Charlotte was a graduate of Oskaloosa Senior High School and later earned her credentials from Barnes College of Cosmetology in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Charlotte began her career as a licensed beautician, but soon shifted paths to join Northwest Bell, which later became US West. She dedicated 34 years of service to the company before retirement. It was during her time at US West that she met the love of her life, Gerald. Charlotte and Gerald were married for 46 wonderful years.
Travel played a significant role in Charlotte and Gerald’s lives. They especially cherished their trips to Lake City, Colorado, where they were crucial in organizing family reunions. Charlotte’s adventurous spirit also led her to attend several Kentucky Derby races with friends and explore many other destinations.
Charlotte was an exceptionally talented quilter, known for creating beautiful masterpieces that will be treasured for generations. She found joy in quilt shop hops with her cousin and friends, always seeking inspiration for her next project. Her passion for quilting extended to her membership in the Warren County Piecemakers Quilt Guild, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to the quilting community. A faithful member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Charlotte was also involved with the Telecom Pioneers.
Charlotte is survived by her sister-in-law, Joyce Bolin of George, Iowa; nephew, Jason Bolin (Jackie) of Tea, South Dakota; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband (Gerald), brother (John), and her mother (Lillian) and father (Darrell).
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16th, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
