Charlotte Sumner Obituary
Born Jan. 24, 1949 in Alton, she was the daughter of Clarence and Daisy (Conklin) Emmons.
Charlotte retired from Wood River Walmart after 25 years of service in the Women's Department. She loved to read, and could finish a book very quickly. She was an excellent cook, and loved tending her flowers. Charlotte especially loved babysitting her grandbabies until they started school.
She married John M. Sumner Apr. 3, 1970. He survives, along with two sons, Matthew Sumner of Wood River and Daniel Sumner of Rosewood Heights. She also has two grandchildren, Ezra Sumner and Lula Sumner of Wood River and a brother, Clarence Emmons, Jr. of Alton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
