Charlotte Tesman

Charlotte Tesman, age 83 years of Bellmawr, NJ, and formerly of Camden, NJ passed away on October 26, 2025, with her devoted daughters and family by her side. She is survived by her daughters, Camille Huddell (Benjamin) and Lily Tesman. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Carly, Benjamin, and Lilianne Huddell, and was predeceased by her granddaughter, Noa Huddell.
Charlotte was born in Zamosc, Poland, to Ananiuz and Elzbieta Lewko. During World War II, when she was a toddler, her family was forced to leave Poland and was sent to Germany, eventually being detained in a Displaced Persons Camp. Six years after the war ended, they attained sponsorship to the United States. Charlotte's family arrived in the U.S. when she was nine years old and settled in the Polish community of Whitman Park, in South Camden, NJ. She attended Saint Joseph's Grammar School, and then graduated from Saint Joseph's High School. Charlotte was always hardworking and was employed as a Hostess, for more than 20 years at Ponzio's in Brooklawn, NJ.
Charlotte's daughters were her world, and her life revolved around their activities. She enjoyed taking day trips with them to New York and Ocean City. Years later, she became a loving and devoted Babcia to her grandchildren, and cherished every moment with them too. Charlotte loved flowers and art and was very creative. Her hobbies included flower arranging, making wreaths, doing various art and crafts and ceramics, collecting Polish crystal, and growing orchids. Her favorite color was peach. She was a true animal lover and always had dogs. She will be greatly missed by her Bichon-poos Jack and Ava.
Relatives and friends are invited to Charlotte's Visitation, from 9:00-9:45 a.m., on Saturday, November 1, 2025, followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. Both Visitation and Mass will be held at Saint Joseph's Polish Roman Catholic Church, 1010 Liberty St., Camden, NJ. 08104. The parking lot entrance is on the Liberty St. side. The entrance to the church is also located on the Liberty St. side. Burial will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, 240 Lower Landing Rd., Blackwood, NJ.
