Frank Vincent Borrelli, age 82 years of Voorhees, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, September 8, 2025. Frank was a man of great intelligence, impeccable character and boundless positivity in all aspects of his life. He was an accomplished leader, entrepreneur, businessman, teacher, Philadelphia and Naval Academy sports enthusiast and, above all else, a devoted husband and family man.
Born in South Philadelphia on August 4,1943 to Benjamin and Rita (nee Martino) who were first generation Italian Americans, Frank attended St Monica's Elementary School, and St John Neumann High School. A natural athlete, he became a stand out football player. He rose to achieve the Scholar Athlete Award, was named First Team All Catholic Football and was ultimately recruited by the US Naval Academy becoming the first in his family to attend college. His love of country and the opportunity to represent the USNA on the field as a starting fullback in his first year, filled him with pride. Tragically, a severe ankle injury during a game ended his tenure at Navy and although he finished his academic career at Villanova University (class of 1966), his heart remained with Navy and his fellow classmates until the end.
Frank married the love of his life Marie in 1965 which began a beautiful journey which continued for more than 60 years. Frank began his work life holding three simultaneous jobs; a high school math teacher and freshman football coach at Neumann and as well as a youth leader at the Department of Recreation in South Philadelphia. Needing to support his growing family, he shifted away from teaching and joined the newly formed RCA Computer Training Program which launched his decades-long career in technology, computer banking and learning systems, including his work on the team that created the first ATM in the metro Philadelphia area - the "MAC" machine. After a long career, holding senior level management positions at a number of Philadelphia based banks, he again sought to listen to his entrepreneurial instincts and formed his own company, B/Systems Development Corp, which thrived for many years.
The centers of his life and the priorities he practiced were in the service to and love of his Faith, Family and Friends. To know Frank Borrelli was to love him and he was a beacon of inspiration and a strong role model for his children and grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie (nee DiPasquo), his son, Vincent and daughter-in-law, Janine; his daughters Nicole and son-in-law, John, and Dina and son-in-law, Aaron. He leaves his cherished grandchildren: Alexa, Adrienne, Evan, Jacob, Jonah, Skylar, Hudson and Vivian; and great grandchildren: Jon, Jaxon, Jade, Ava, Tate, Giovanni and Gianna. He is also survived by his sisters: Annette (Joe) Della Valla and Mary (the late Lefty) Mitsos, brother-in-law Anthony DiPasquo and his wife Michaela, and seven nieces and nephews and their families. He also leaves behind his numerous friends and his beloved rescue dog, Brit, who was his constant companion over the past eleven years.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation, 9:30-11:00a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025, at St. Andrew the Apostle R.C.
