She was born August 25, 1948 in Madison, WV the daughter of the late Raymond and Phyllis Vance.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Norman "John-John" Durkee; sister, Kimberly Rudolph; brother, Donald Vance; grandson, Vance Rudolph; and her mother and father-in-law, John N. and Alice Durkee.
Charlotte enjoyed the beach, driving a school bus for Logan County and Boone County, her fur babies, Beanie, Sara, Loki, and Troubles. She enjoyed studying, worshiping, and sharing her knowledge of the Lord.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Durkee; three daughters, April D. Tompkins, Bobbie Joe Tompkins (Richard Patrick), and Carol Horne (Glen); five grandchildren, Lorene Baldwin (Josh), John "JD" Rudolph, Keiton Tompkins (Samantha), Sara Horne, and Lauren Horne; seven great grandchildren, Walker Baldwin, Rylee Joe Baldwin, Ryker Shaffer, Titus Baldwin, Bane Tompkins, Rylynn Rudolph, and Alexa Durkee; two sister-in-laws, Kaye Miller Vance and Lauren (Bob) Daily; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends of Monclo.
Services will be held at a later date.
Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
