CHARMAYNE YVONNE JOHNSON, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, transcended this earthly realm on December 15, 2025. Born on October 28, 1952, in the warm heart of Dallas, Texas, she blossomed into a woman marked by profound dedication, loyalty, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. With a legacy that intertwines familial devotion and a stellar career, Charmayne's life is a tapestry woven with love and compassion.
For 31 years, she served with distinction at the Internal Revenue Service, where her commitment to her work mirrored her dedication to her family and friends. Her proudest accomplishments shone brightest in her roles as a mother and community member. Charmayne's nurturing nature was evident to all who crossed her path; she had an innate ability to uplift those around her—a quality that endeared her to many.
Education played an important role in her life, having attended LG Pinkston High School and furthering her studies at Paul Quinn College. The values instilled during her formative years shaped the woman she became—resilient, engaging, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Charmayne reveled in the simple joys of life, often losing herself in the soothing melodies of Luther Vandross and indulging in the magic of movie nights. Friends and family alike will fondly remember her laughter echoing through the rooms, filling gatherings with warmth and love.
While her physical presence has departed, the essence of Charmayne lives on in the hearts of her surviving loved ones. She is mourned by her devoted brother, Henry Johnson, her grandchildren Breyona Johnson and Joshua Hooper,.and her caring niece and caretaker, Shaneka Winston, who stood steadfastly by her side, offering kindness and support in her time of need.
She rejoins her cherished family who have preceded her in death—her loving parents, Henry J. Johnson and Ernestine Johnson; her dear daughter, Yumeka Hooper; her son, Kivi Johnson; her siblings, Alonzo, Charlotte, and Vicky Johnson. Together, they create a circle of love that continues to inspire those who remain.
