Chatriala Goodin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by West's Mortuary on Dec. 3, 2025.
The Funeral Service for Ms. Chatriala LeVonda Goodin of Smithville, Georgia, will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Green Grove Baptist Church in Smithville, Georgia.

Chatriala LaVonda Goodin, affectionately known as "Vonda" and "Von Von" to her little uber riders, was born in Sumter County, Americus, Georgia on October 26, 1971, to the parentage of the late Eugene Goodin and the late Jeanette Lewis Goodin.

Vonda was educated in the Lee County Public School System and graduated with the class of 1990. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and joined Green Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Hosie Waters. She was an active member on the Usher and Culinary Ministries until the hurtful night when she slipped away, without a moment of notice, to be with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her only son, Jawanza Goodin; brother, Stanley Goodin; aunts: Ada Lewis, Joyce Daniels, Linda Thomas, and Minnie Cooper; and uncle, Robert L. Lewis.

Leaving behind a legacy of love and memories to her only daughter, Lavona "Chantall" Goodin; a caring sister, Theresa (Ricky) Goodin-Myrick; one devoted niece, Shalnica (Nicholas) French, all of Smithville, Georgia; two god-sons: Andre (Catrina) Dismuke of Jacksonville, Florida and Franklin Dismuke of Smithville, Georgia; a lifelong companion of twenty-seven years, Willie Clay of Smithville, Georgia; uncles: Willie (Millicent) Gooden of Springfield, Virginia, Randolph Lewis and Charlie Thomas both of Smithville, Georgia; two devoted nieces and Uber riders: Eiliyah Brown and Jailah French; caring neighbors: Mary Hightower and family and Larry and Annie Hodge; a host of sorrowing cousins also survive. Her life leaves a lasting imprint on the many heartbroken family, friends and members of the Smithville community who grieve her loss, including the Downtown Developmental Authority, Smithville Neighborhood Watch, Dollar General of Smithville, and the Green Grove Baptist Church Family.
