Chau Le Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by North Haven Funeral Home, Inc. on Aug. 27, 2024.
Chau Thi Le, 82, of East Haven, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital from injuries sustained in an automotive accident. She was the beloved wife of 66 years of Thien Van Dang. Chau was born on December 31, 1941 in Ba Diem, Vietnam and was the daughter of the late Le Van Thang and Tran Thi Duc. During her time in Vietnam, Chau worked as a jewelry saleswoman, having owned her own Gold Exchange Business until 1990, when she immigrated to the United States of America. Upon her arrival, she became an assembly worker for Edal Industries in East Haven for several years until her retirement. Chau was a very religious woman; having spent most of her free time in prayer and visiting several Buddhist Temples. She was very active at the Phuoc Long Temple in Ansonia and the Hai An Temple in New Britain. She was also very generous and regularly donated to the poor in Vietnam. Chau loved listening to and watching Vietnamese Opera and other musical shows. She was also an avid gardener and flowerer and took pride in her orchids, which were her favorite. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally.
In addition to her husband, Chau is survived by her children, Hong Cam Dang (Tam Duy Le), Hong Thuy Dang (Thanh Lai), Hieu Trong Dang (Hang Hoang Nguyen), Hong Thao Dang (Thinh Nguyen), and Eric Chinh Dang (Haley Suong Tran), as well as her grandchildren, Rachael and Eric Lai, Hannah, Brianna, and Karlee Dang, and Khoa, Tran, and Khiem Nguyen. She is also survived by her brother in Vietnam, Minh Le (Nhan Huynh) and nephew Tu Le (Linh).
The visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 29th and Friday, August 30th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, August 31st, at 7:00 AM for a prayer service, beginning at 7:30 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven.
