Chelester (Christopher) Chatt, a.k.a. mom Chill, was born to the late John E. I. and Mary H. Christopher of Harrington, Delaware. Chelester was born on September 17, 1928. On September 9, 2022, God called her home after a long illness.
Chelester, lived in Harrington all her life. She was educated in public schools in Harrington. She was active in the community and was "mom" to everyone. She would often take the grands and offered a helping hand to everyone. Mom Chill would give you her last if she thought you needed it. Her real job was a grandmom, leading, feeding, and educating every child to be their best.
Chelester was a member of the Metropolitan Church of Harrington, Delaware for years. She was member of the Women's Conference traveling from state to state.
Chelester was employed at the Lake Forest High School. She supplied her family with her delicious sweet potato pies (her mother's recipe) and a myriad of unforgettable dishes only she could make. She used to drive all the children to Killen's Pond and would entertaining them in various other ways. Chelester has left us with warm and lasting memories to cherish.
Chelester was preceded in death by her parents, John E. I. and Mary Christopher; sons, John E. II and Emanual Christopher; sister, Hazel Pitts; nephews, Dewight Ross, William Ross, and niece, Donita L. (Ross) Amaye.
Chelester is survived by two daughters, Wilhelmina Lee (Marion) of Camden, DE; seven children and host grandchildren and Mary H. Boyce (Leroy) Greensboro, Md., four children and host of grandchildren; niece Anna L. Owens, two sons and host of nieces and nephews' great grand nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law's Beverly Christopher and five children, Camilla Christopher and three children, and a host of grands and great grands; Terry Dixon, mother of three of John E. II's children, and a host of grands, great grands, nieces and nephews.
