Cheri Altieri Obituary
Cheri's kindness, warmth, and unwavering spirit made her a pillar of strength to her family. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and made cherished memories that will be remembered forever by those she leaves behind. Always the life of the party, Cheri loved life and celebrated it frequently with her family, friends and loved ones. She loved to tell stories, and as the years passed on, they always grew more and more exciting and dramatic. Cheri was also very artistic and an accomplished rider evidenced by her winning the American Royal in Horsemanship at 16 years of age. A model in the 1960s, Cheri was crowned Miss Mission and went on to compete for the Miss Kansas title where she was the runner-up. Cheri was truly as beautiful outside as she was within.
She is survived by her sons, James Dominic Davis (Dixie) of Port Orange, Florida, and Anthony Todd Davis of Gardner, Kansas. Cheri's legacy of love continues through her grandchildren: Westin Dominic Davis of Lansing, Kansas; Shelby Lee Davis of Port Orange, Florida; Megan Lynn Moren Davis of Port Orange, Florida; Sophia Louise Davis of Louisburg, Kansas; and Anthony James Davis of Baldwin City, Kansas; her cherished great-granddaughter Ivy Louise; and her niece Jessica Altieri Hensley and nephew Nicholas Michael Altieri both of Lawrence, Kansas. Cheri is lovingly remembered by her companion, Raymond Brant of Bonner Springs, Kansas; his daughter Leanna Hart and Ray's grandchildren Courtney and Garrett.
Cheri was preceded in death by her mother Barbara June Moren Altieri; her father Dominico Antonio Altieri; and her brothers Michael Anthony Altieri and Gary Moren Altieri.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, Kansas, on Tuesday, July 23 at 4:00 PM. A reception and gathering of friends and loved ones will follow at the Harrington Family Event Center, next door to the funeral home.
