With profound sadness and grief, we share the passing of Cherie Ann Anderson, age 70, of Ramsey, MN on September 2nd, 2025. Known for her stunning beauty, a charismatic smile that would stop you in your tracks, and a laugh that was infectious to everyone around. Cherie was truly one-of-a-kind. Cherie was born on June 4, 1955 at the US Army Hospital in Fort Riley, Kansas to Reverend James "Bompa" and Wanda "Nana" Anderson (Zell). Cherie grew up in New Richmond, Wisconsin and later moved to Minnesota where she was married to Bob Hamborg and they had two children Michael & Molly. Cherie joined the City of Anoka Police Department in 1995 first as a volunteer, then working security while she was in training to be a police officer. She joined the ranks as a police officer in 1998 where she spent 11 years of her life dedicated to her job and known around the department for her humor, passion for the people she served, and her unforgettable joyful smile. In retirement, Cherie enjoyed gardening and antiques, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Cherie is survived by her former husband, Bob Hamborg, and their children Michael (Stephanie) Hamborg and Molly Hamborg (Gabe Lee); her mother Wanda Anderson; sisters Dede Anderson (Wayne Gebbie) and Kim Anderson; and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Reverend James "Bompa" Anderson; her brother Mark Anderson; nephew Matthew Quist; and her dog, Useless, age 17.5, who also passed this year as well. It gives the family great comfort to know that Cherie is reunited with Useless and her beloved father, brother and nephew. A visitation will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday September 24, 2025 followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, Minnesota 55433. Food and friendship to follow at the Coon Rapids VFW Post 9625 located at 1919 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.
