Cherie Annette Gutierrez

Cherie Gutierrez, 81, Died February 14th, 2026, in St. George UT. Cherie was born August 23,1944 in Glendale CA. to Earl and Leon Christensen. She was the baby of 7 children.

Born Leanna Emily, her older brothers fighting World War II, wrote that she should be Cherie Annette – "my Darling Ann" in French.

Cherie was last married to Eddie just about 18 years ago in St. George.

Mom was raised in California; Cherie went to College at San Diego. She was born under the covenant and lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mom knew who she was as a valent daughter of God. She served in the Primary, and Relief Society was always willing to do the lord's work.

No matter where she lived in California, Oregon, Washington state or here in Southern Utah. She was always looking to make someone's day better and put a smile on their face. Mom loved to sing and laugh. Just being with her on her back porch. Feeling the warm air of the day was a blessing. Cherie loved to travel, to see her Family, shopping, Serving the Lord. Going out with Eddie, those were the things she liked.

My Mother raised Valent people. Always saying, take a deep breath and do the next right thing. You can get through the next 5 minutes. Keep moving forward. Drink more water. Blessed are the peacemakers. You are Time travelers with your brother. Be good to yourself, you are the golden Goose. Don't wallow in the swamp of Sadness. Accentuate the positive!

Cherie is survived by her husband Eddie, Sons Jeff and Lloyd, Daughter Julie, Daughters in Law Debbie, Amy. Son in Law John W. Case.

Grandchildren: Kevin, Eric, Kayla, Savannah, Brayden, Rhea, Aimee, Jessica, Abram, Allison, Mackensie, Courtney, Leslie.

Great Grandchildren: Cherie and Justin.

Funeral Services will be held Monday February 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. a viewing will be held from 8:30am to 9:30am prior to the services at 550 E 700 S St. George UT 84770. Interment will be in Enoch City Cemetery.
