Trudy Dawn Christensen Carter, 75, of
St. George, Utah, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 25, 1950, in
Provo, Utah, to Grace and Donell Christensen.
On August 31, 1968, Trudy married the love of her life, Rand G. Carter, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their life together began during a time of service and sacrifice, as Rand served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam. After his return, they were stationed in Twentynine Palms, California, where they began building their life together.
While living in California, they welcomed their son, Andrew K. Carter, who was born on December 29, 1968, and passed away on December 31, 1968 - a tender and sacred loss that Trudy carried in her heart throughout her life.
Trudy and Rand later settled in Orem, Utah, where they welcomed their children, Chelese Ann Conway (born December 6, 1969) and Joey Don Carter (born May 1, 1980). In 1992, Trudy and Rand moved to
St. George, Utah, where they continued to grow their roots and build lasting memories.
Trudy was the definition of dedication and strength. She worked in electronics for over 50 years, spending the last 31 years of her career with Wilson Electronics. She was known by everyone who worked with her as one of the hardest workers you could ever meet. Her work ethic was unmatched - she worked faithfully right up until the day she passed. She believed in showing up, giving her best, and doing things the right way.
After the passing of her beloved Rand in 2014, Trudy moved in with her son Joey and her daughter-in-law Summer, where she lived for the past 10 years. Those years became some of the most cherished and meaningful of her life. Sharing a home together meant daily hugs, late-night talks, laughter in the kitchen, and the simple comfort of never being alone. She was not just living in their home - she was at the heart of it. Being surrounded by her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren brought her a deep sense of peace and joy. We are forever grateful for the years we were blessed to share our home with her.
Trudy's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She adored both of her children, Chelese and Joey, and was always present - at vacations, school performances, recitals, football games, holidays, anniversaries, and birthdays. She was immensely proud of all her grandchildren's achievements and celebrated every milestone with love and joy. For Trudy, nothing was more important than being a part of her family's daily life and milestones. She cherished each moment, large or small, with her heart wide open.
She is survived by her children Chelese Ann Conway and Joey Don Carter; her grandchildren Jarin Tyler Carter, Karissa Grace Conway, Cayden Wayne Carter, Autumn Dawn Carter, Ava Clerin Carter, and Daxton Rand Carter; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Trudy loved shopping, attending plays, watching NASCAR, and enjoying a good train ride. But more than any hobby, she loved being with her people. She found joy simply sitting in a room filled with loved ones, sharing in stories, laughter, and everyday moments. Her presence was steady, warm, and constant - a quiet strength that anchored those around her.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington City Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Rand G. Carter.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is reunited with Rand and her sweet baby Andrew. Her love will continue in the lives of her children and grandchildren, who carry forward her strength, her example, and her heart.
She was our constant. She was our home. She was deeply loved - and she always will be.
