Cherie O'Callaghan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clark Associates Funeral Home on Jun. 6, 2025.
A resident of Katonah, NY, Cherie (nee Blake) was born on April 16, 1972 in Port Alberni, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. She passed away June 1, 2025 at the age of 54 after a valiant and determined battle with cancer. Cherie married her husband, Michael, in New York City in January 2003. Cherie and Michael have two sons, Michael "Finn" and Blake. She is also survived by: her mother Doreen Blake (nee Levasseur), sister Chantelle Pasco, and 14 nieces and nephews whom adored her free spirit, empathy and unparalleled sense of fashion and style.
As a young woman Cherie grew up in Campbell River, on Vancouver Island, BC which is roughly the size of Switzerland. She also lived in Orcas Island, WA and Vancouver, BC.
Cherie was a leader in the specialty event coordination / transportation logistics business over a 30 year career. She founded and owned two industry leading firms, Event Transportation International and The O'Callaghan Group. Both firms worked with the who's who of international business including: Microsoft, IBM, PepsiCo, Nike, Mars and others, providing elite transportation logistics for C-suite events around the globe - US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Through the years she worked shoulder to shoulder with her sister, Chantelle, and they both had the loving support of their parents, Doreen and Bob Blake.
Settling with her family in the picturesque towns of Williston, PA and Katonah, NY, she was an avid supporter of her two sons in every endeavor both in the classroom and on the playing fields throughout the Eastern Seaboard. Finn is a rising senior at Trinity College and a member of the men's Varsity Lacrosse team, and Blake is a rising high school senior who has committed to play lacrosse at Princeton University.
Cherie was an exceptional role model and a cherished companion who was always available at any time to lend a helping hand or advice. She was also an extraordinary entrepreneur who loved brainstorming about ideas for new companies.
To meet and know Cherie meant you always wanted to spend more time with her. Her endless optimism and graceful manner had a remarkable way of making anyone she met feel special and at ease. She was always quick with an infectious laugh and a knowing grin.
She was a beacon who lit up every space she ever occupied. Cherie will be sorely missed by her family, friends and anyone who had the pleasure to know such an eternally positive, unselfish, generous, loving and determined person.

I´m so saddened to hear this news today. Cherie had a way of lighting up every room she entered. I had the pleasure of working with her on many events over the years, and without fail, she brought a problem-solving mindset, quick wit, and a beautiful smile to every moment. She will be deeply missed by all of us in the event community.

May her family find comfort in knowing how many lives she touched along the way.

May you rest in peace, my sweet friend.
