It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dan Pierce, who left us on March 21, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on June 8, 1945, in New London, TX, to Walter Lee Pierce and Mary Ann Maude Harrison Pierce.
Dan was a devoted husband to Shirley Pierce, and together they built a beautiful family that includes sons Ricky and Daniel (along with daughter-in-law Crystal), daughter Angie Downing,(with son-in-law Terry Downing) and daughter Christie Smith (with son-in-law James Smith). He also shared a special bond with his 17 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren. Cherry was a proud Navy veteran who went on to build a successful career as a welder for Trinity Intercontinental.
In his spare time Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing but his greatest joy came from his garden where he would spend many of his days either on his tractor or harvesting his vegetables to share with others.
There will be a public viewing held at Croley Funeral Home in Diana on March 25, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come share their memories and pay their respects.
A graveside service will take place at Ore City Cemetery on March 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM, where Dan will be laid to rest.
Let us come together to honor a man who touched so many lives. In his memory, we remember the laughter, love, and warmth he brought to our lives.
