Cherryl L. Evans, 68, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, at her home surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born on October 10, 1957, in Massena, the daughter of Richard and Annette (Levac) Rombough. Cherryl graduated from Massena High School, and while attending school she earned her cosmetology degree from BOCES. She worked at Massena Hospital dietary department, where she remained for 10 years. During that time, she also worked briefly as a cosmetologist.

On August 24, 1985, she married Ronald S. Evans of Watertown in Massena. The couple moved to Watertown, where Cherryl worked as a sorter for the Salvation Army for 35 years, retiring in August 2024. Mr. Evans worked security at the Salmon Run Mall for 20 years.

Cherryl enjoyed crafting, attending craft shows, reading, traveling, going to the casino, and spending summers at the family cottage on Crystal Lake in Redwood. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Among her survivors are her beloved husband, Ronald S. Evans; her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica L. and Christopher M. Brayton of Oswego, NY; and three grandchildren, Zackary, Logan, and Bradley. She is also survived by her loving mother, Annette Rombough of Massena; three stepchildren and their spouses, Dawn and Ronald Mack of Felts Mills, NY, Amy and Donald Beach of Black River, NY, and Lisa Beach of Felts Mills, NY; four step-grandchildren, Ashley (Correy) Bibey, Shawn (Sara) Beach, Michael Beach, and Tyler (Kait) Beach; five step-great-grandchildren; her four siblings, Craig Rombough, Connie Statton of Greenlawn, NY, Lori and Larry White of Kansas, and Nancy Alguire of Massena; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Lucas.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 North Massey St., Watertown. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Black River Cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
