Kenneth Evans Obituary
There will be no services at this time. Burial will be in the Arni Cemetery, Lancaster, Missouri. Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa has taken Mike and his family into their care.
Mike is survived by two daughters, Tracey Davidson and Tonya (Michael McBride) Evans, 3 grandchildren, Mark (Angel) Davidson, Coty (Samantha) Lukemyres, Kaurie (David) Davidson, a great-granddaughter Myla Lukemyres and another on the way.
He was preceded by his parents and his wife Patsy.
Kenneth Michael Evans was born January 28, 1940, in Bloomfield, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Michael and Mary Edith Briggs Evans. Mike graduated from the Bloomfield Schools and continued his education at Truman University in Kirksville, Missouri where he received his teaching degree. Mike married Patsy Ferdig on August 22, 1967, in Lancaster, Missouri. Mike taught middle school in Round Lake, Minnesota and later for a year in Canada. In 1976 the family moved to Anamosa and Mike was employed at the Iowa Men's Reformatory for 33 years from 1977 until 2010. His retirement at the age of 70 was well earned
Mike was an avid reader of newspapers, books and current events. He enjoyed tinkering with electronic gadgets and liked photography. He enjoyed watching Patsy work with her flowers.
