Cheryal Blakely Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alavon Direct Cremation Service - South Daytona on Dec. 16, 2025.
Cheryal Blakely, 78, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025 at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach. Born on April 18, 1947, in Johnstown, PA, Cheryal was the fourth child born to Albon Brady and Irene (Jenkins) Corbett, to both of whom Cheryal is now reunited with.
Cheryal was a unique individual and sometimes had an unpredictable personality. However, she often shared her kindhearted spirit with all. Cheryal valued her time caring for her mom, Irene, during their last years together before Irene's passing in 2009. Since then, Cheryal found tremendous joy in weekend food prep, and sharing packaged meals with her friends in the community. Cheryal lived independently with her long-time companion of 20+ years, Fluffy the cat.
For many years, Cheryal's creativeness was expressed in making and selling leather roses crafted into barrettes, bracelets, and other decorative items. Additionally, she loved crafting glass beads into earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. When Cheryal was not crafting, she was completing one of her many word search puzzle books. Cheryal loved feeling the earth beneath her toes and was always seen walking barefoot in the neighborhood, carrying her legendary water jug!
Cheryal was predeceased by her parents and first-born grandchild, Jason Wyandt. Survivors include her daughter, Cherie (Wyandt) Kunkel and her husband, Tom of Poconos, PA; her sons, Dan Wyandt and his wife Tammy of Burnsville, NC, and Steven Wyandt of Burnsville, NC; her grandchildren, Victoria, Danielle, Meghan, Patrick, and Sean; and three great-grandchildren, Zoey, Jaycee, and Lincoln. Cheryal is also survived by her siblings: sister, Vivian Haymaker of Johnstown, PA, Raymond Brady of Maryland, and brothers of unknow location or surviving, Jack and Timothy.
A private candlelight vigil and memorial was celebrated amongst her close friends and daughter the week following her passing. Interment will take place at a later date.
