Cheryl Blasko Obituary

Cheryl "Cherie" Blasko, 64, of Del Rio, TN, died peacefully in her home on October 9 with her husband by her side.

Cherie was born in Asheville, NC in 1960 to Patricia and Richard Hilton, and grew up as a true Marine Corps "brat." She loved to write, play music, and enjoy the nature around her. She will be remembered as being endlessly creative and always taking the chance to help others.

Cherie is preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her husband, Bill, of 45 years; her daughter, Cara; her son, Will; her sisters, Carol and Susan, and many other family members who will miss her. She will be especially missed by her dogs, Gilbert and Badness, and her cat, General Sterling Price.

A Celebration of Life for Cherie will be held in the spring.

Cheri loved to create music and wrote many songs. I loved playing guitar with her and writing music. Also loved to see her fish in the local waters and ride high on the mountains of TN. I will miss my good friend we even went camping with the moose in Maine and what a crazy fun experience that was hearing the moose come towards us. Irene Goodnight

When I was a kid, my mom used to point out birds to me and tell me what they were called. I felt like we were on some adventure, identifying rare creatures.

We'd hear a chickadee calling out, and she told me it sounds like they're saying, "He did it!" And then not long after would be another, further away, "He did it!" I still think of this every time I hear this call. She taught me to love nature, and to pay attention to the natural world. I love and miss her.
