Cheryl Ann Blatz (Walker), 61, of
Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, after courageously battling Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
Born on March 10, 1964, in Huntington, West Virginia, Cheryl was the beloved daughter of Barbara Ann Spears (McMillian) and Omen Casper Walker. Throughout her life, she called many places home, including Centerville, Ohio, West Palm Beach, Florida, and most recently
Georgetown, Texas.
Cheryl dedicated her career to caring for others, beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant in hospice care, where her compassion and gentle spirit brought comfort to countless families during their most difficult times. She later developed expertise in mortgage banking, concluding her professional journey at Thrive Mortgage in
Georgetown, Texas.
Above all, Cheryl's greatest gift was her extraordinary love for animals. Known as an "animal whisperer" among family and friends, she had an innate ability to connect with creatures great and small – from cats and dogs to pigs. Her home was always filled with furry companions who knew they were truly loved.
Cheryl's favorite pastime was cooking, and she was beloved for serving wonderful meals that brought family and friends together around her table. She was also renowned for creating magical Halloween and Christmas wonderlands at her home, transforming her property into spectacular displays that brought joy to neighbors and visitors alike. Her creative spirit and generous heart made these seasonal celebrations a cherished tradition for family and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Ann Spears (McMillian); her father, Omen Casper Walker; her stepfather, Donald Claude Richards; and her previous husband, Gregory McDonald.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Lee Blatz Jr.; her son, Dustin Wayne Walker; her sister, Robin Ann Eissler; her brother, John Alan Walker; numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren; and her cherished animal companions, Rottweiler Duke and cats Louie and Billy.
A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Christopher House in Austin, Texas, in honor of Cheryl's lifelong commitment to caring for others.
Cheryl's legacy of compassion, her unwavering love for family, and her special bond with animals will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
