Cheryl Vee Cassels, age 71, passed from this life on Sunday, September 1, 2024. Born March 12, 1953, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Charlie Gough and Jessie (McNeely) Gough, Cheryl had a fulfilling career in the banking industry, where she specialized in investments, a field she was truly passionate about.
Cheryl was devoted to her family and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her love for music and singing brought joy to those around her, and she had a special talent for planting flowers and decorating her home with care and creativity. A dedicated sports fan, Cheryl enjoyed following the Texas Rangers and attending softball games and playoffs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Jessie Gough, and her beloved husband, Jerry Lee Cassels.
Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Chessa L. Cassels (Cynthia) and Vanessa R. Cludius, both of Weatherford, Texas; and grandchildren, Kaleb, Kayleigh, Hannah, and Kailee. Additional survivors include her sister, Theresa Gwen Tate (Harland Lee); brother, Daryl Ray Gough (Doris); sister-in-law, Marcia Cassels (deceased husband, Harold Cassels); as well as her niece, Alicia Cassels (Dennis); and nephews, Brian Edward Tate (Patrina) and Ryan Gough (Heather).
The family welcomes friends and family to gather for visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in a stateroom at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the same location.
Cheryl’s warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
