Broken Bow, NE- Cheryl R. Daugherty age 63 of Broken Bow passed away on March 12, 2026, at her home in Broken Bow after a short battle with cancer.
Cheryl was born on October 3, 1962, in Broken Bow to Patrick and Opal (Mattson) Powers. She grew up in Broken Bow and graduated from BBHS in 1981. Cheryl worked for many years at Sandhills Manor Care Home as a Nurse’s Aide and later furthered her education by moving to North Platte and attended Mid-Plains Community College to get her LPN degree. While living in North Platte Cheryl was married to Vern Daugherty. The family returned to Broken Bow. Cheryl and Vern later divorced but remained longtime friends. Cheryl worked at Sandhills Manor and then Callaway Good Life Center in Callaway.
Cheryl is survived by her son Jeremiah and wife Stephanie Daugherty of Broken Bow, stepdaughter Rhonda and husband Jason Buckhold or Springfield, IL, three grandchildren: Janel and Chloe Daugherty and Elijah Buckhold. Cheryl is also survived by her brother Mike (Jill) Powers of Broken Bow, sister Tammy Meredith of Broken Bow, and longtime partner Vern Daugherty.
She was preceded by her parents, and brother Dick.
