Cheryl K Dunbar

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Cheryl Kay (Pennington) Dunbar, age 66, of Northwood, Ohio. Cheryl passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and kindness that touched everyone she met.

Cheryl is survived by her sons, Nathan Dunbar (Desiree) and Anthony Williams (Jazmin), and her grandson Jordyn; her sisters, Pam Schlicher and Karen Garcia; her brother, Robert Pennington (Barb); her loving companion, Chris Simpson; and her ex-husband, Jeremy Dunbar. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, along with her special furry companions, Charlie and Casanova.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her furry friends, King Solomon and Buster.

A lifelong caregiver, Cheryl worked for many years at the Lutheran Home of Mercy in Williston, Ohio, and devoted herself to caring for her loved ones-including her grandmother, parents, and Karen's mother-in-law-ensuring they were always surrounded by love. She had a passion for camping and traveling, enjoying family trips to places like Lookout Mountain and Loretta Lynn's Ranch.

Cheryl's love for her children and grandson was boundless, expressed even in the small, thoughtful acts-like cooking special batches of chili and chicken and rice to make sure Anthony enjoyed every meal. She absolutely loved the color purple, and her faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life. She delighted in listening to Brandon Lake's music, even attending his concert in Detroit last year.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cheryl's family and friends will remember her for her caring heart, laughter, and the warmth she brought to every life she touched.
