Cheryl L. Husmann

Funeral services for Cheryl (Mrs. Lyle) Husmann age 81 of Pilger, NE will be on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, NE with Pastor Michael Moreno officiating. Interment will be in the Pilger Cemetery following the luncheon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Cheryl passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the Stanton Health Center.

Cheryl Lea Husmann was born February 1, 1944 in Omaha, NE her parents were Reinold and Ileen (Snyder) Miller. She was baptized on the family farm south of Brady, NE and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Cheryl graduated from Wisner High School in 1962.

On June 3, 1963, she was united in marriage to Lyle Husmann at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, NE. They lived near Pilger, where Cheryl was a homemaker, secretary, and bookkeeper for various business. She was employed at the Norfolk Daily News for 15 years, retiring in 2009.

Cheryl was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, was a former member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Pilger and was a member of the LWML. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, needlepoint and sewing, and photography.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her infant daughter-Laura Ellen Husmann, son-Michael Husmann, parents-Ileen Miller and Reinold (Reinie) Miller; sister-Lynette Larson; sister-in-law-Cynthia Husmann; mother-in-law-Mary Sorensen; father-in-law-Norbert Husmann; infant brother-in-law-Jerald Husmann; maternal grandmother-Lillie Keller, maternal grandfather-James Snyder; step grandfather-Fred Keller; paternal grandfather-Henry Miller, paternal grandmother-Dora Miller; step father-in-law-Niels Sorensen; sister-in-law-Precy Miller; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
