On Monday, May 26, Cheryl Sue Pack Evans, 77, of Waxhaw, NC (formerly of Anawalt) was released from her pain and suffering to go home to be with the Lord. She had been a resident of Autumn Care Nursing Home for the past several years.
Born February 17, 1948, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Bill and Sylvia Pack. She was a 1966 graduate of Gary High School. She received a nursing degree from Bluefield State and worked for years as a registered nurse at various locations. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons whom she adored.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny V. Evans and brother William (Buddy) Pack. Left to cherish her memory are
Son: Billy Evans and wife Anna of Mineral Springs, NC
Grandsons: Dr. Anthony Evans and wife Katie of Lancaster, SC Braylen Evans of Mineral Springs, NC
Great grandchildren Bennett Evans and Madeline Hubbard
Sisters: Diana Lockhart of Bluefield, VA Sudie (Joy) Dawson of Kingwood, TX
She will also be missed by nieces, great nieces and great, great nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Rev. Myron Tilley officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call one hour prior, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Evans family.
