WATERBURY – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cheryl Palmer, age, 71, of Waterbury, announce her passing after a brief illness on July 5, 2024, at Beacon Brook Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Howard E. Palmer.
Cheryl was born on September 24, 1952, in Eagle Lake, ME, the daughter of the late Philip and Lorraine (Guerrette) Plourde. A graduate of local schools, she achieved her high school diploma and dedicated over four decades to working in the law profession. Cheryl worked with the Maloney, St. John, and Atkins Law Firm for many years, then went on to work for the Law Office of Gregory G. St. John, LLC, until her retirement in 2018. Cheryl leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. May her memory be a blessing that will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her son, Shawn Wood and her 2 beloved grandchildren;Alexander J. Wood, and Kelsey M. Wood. She also leaves her sisters; Sandra Alves and her husband Tony, and Phyllis Plourde, her brother, Alfred Plourde, her 7 nieces and nephews; Jennifer Taylor-Datil, Joshua Alves, Michael Taylor, Sarah Alves, Tara Bach, Zachary Plourde, and Ashlee Plourde, along with extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Palmer will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT, to St. Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect, CT 06712, to celebrate a Mass a Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Cheryl’s family on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until leaving for the services at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
