Cheryl (Cherie) Wilson Parsell, 80, of Wooster, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at West View Healthy Living in Wooster.

Cherie was born January 7, 1945, in Wooster to Wilber and Adeline {Manges} Wilson.

She graduated from Wooster High School in 1963 and was a lifelong Wooster resident. She married Evoir “Bud” Parsell, he passed away in 2021. She then married Carl Daugherty. He survives.

Following her graduation, Cherie worked for Western and Southern Life Insurance Company, then managed the Montgomery Ward Catalog store for several years. Next, she worked for the W.T. Grant Store before going to work for the Old Fabricators which changed to the Crown Division where she worked for almost 30 years. She also tended bar at the Eagles Lodge (where she was a long-time member) and the Moose Lodge and worked for her dad at Willey and Company for many years.

She loved to bowl in her early years and was an avid animal lover, having several pets of her own; she also loved to go camping. Cherie and Carl loved camping, fishing, dancing, and old cars; they were high school sweethearts.

Cherie will be deeply missed by her husband, Carl; daughter Jody (James) Duchesneau of Lincoln, Nebraska, stepchildren Allen Parsell of Akron and Bobby Parsell Jr. of Scio; grandchildren Sam, Jordan, Natalie, Livia, and Helena Duchesneau; step-grandchildren Shawn Jr., Dakota, and Bobby Jr. Parsell; brother Terry Wilson of Wooster and sisters Kim Gantz of Wooster and Kathy Jo Miles of Sarasota, Florida.

Cherie was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Milton Switzer and husband, Bud, stepsons David and Shawn Parsell Sr.

Friends may call Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Daron Butler officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
