Cheryl Ann Reding, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, December 20, 2025. The family will host a Celebration of Life from 1 – 3 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2210 Grand Avenue, Marion, Iowa.
Cheryl was born July 26, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of LaVerne and Margaret (Boss) Mefford. She graduated from Marion High School. Cheryl married Mark Douglas Reding on August 4, 1979, in Marion, Iowa. She spent many years working in accounting at Rockwell Collins, retiring in 2014. Cheryl enjoyed traveling, camping, and trips to the casino. She had a deep love for dogs, was a devoted Iowa Hawkeye fan, and also enjoyed attending NASCAR races.
Survivors include her twin sister, Carol Kauffman; brothers, Dick (Sharon) Mefford, Bill (Cindy) Mefford, and Jim (Deb) Mefford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LaVerne and Margaret Mefford; husband, Mark Reding; sisters, Judy Stoner, Marcia May, and Pat Mefford; and her precious dogs, DJ, Duke, and Duchess.
