Beverly Coffin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Funeral Home on Jan. 27, 2026.
Beverly "Bev" Helen Coffin, 56, of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away peacefully Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the Oldorf Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. A private family service and a celebration of Bev's life will be held at a later date.

Bev was born on September 9, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Alan and Glendora (Dee) Coffin. Bev graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington HS, class of 1987.

She was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta and was unable to walk. This did not define her. Bev's life was independent and full of many adventures. She loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, MN Vikings, and NASCAR. She enjoyed many concerts, area bands, and traveling with friends and family. But most of all, Bev loved her family and friends that became family.

Bev is survived by her siblings, Brad (Susan) Coffin, and Becky Baker; nieces and nephews, Andrea (Nate) Coffin, Jennifer (Steve) Brink, Brian Coffin, Nick (Kendall) Baker, and Ericka (Max) Ramsey; her beloved great nieces and nephews, Colton, Vivian, Jaidyn, Bentley, Braxton, Jackson, Brayton, Roczen, Emmarie, Meadow and Ryker. Bev also leaves behind her lifelong friends, Diane, Corey and George, who she loved with her whole heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Brian and two great nephews, Hlas and Maxton.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Stroh, the Hall Perrine Cancer Center, the angels disguised as nurses at the Oldorf Hospice House and Michelle Bell who took in Allie the Cat when Bev could no longer care for her.

A memorial fund in Bev's name has been established.

Although I didn't get to physically meet Bev with my living in the PNW, Bev and my brother Corey were thick as thieves. There wasn't a time when Corey wasn't talking about Bev and the good times they had when he and I would text or message each other on social media. A friendship that was inseparable. Rest easy Bev......rest easy.

It was a blessing to have known Bev. She was always cheerful, positive minded and had kind things to say. May she rest in peace and be pain free. We miss her here at Project Independence. She was always uplifting others despite her own issues. Prayers to her friends and family, she loved you all dearly.
