Cheryl Jeanne Sampson, 81, of Lincoln, passed away September 7, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Cremation rites will then be accorded.

Cheryl was born July 3, 1944, in Arlington Heights, IL., the daughter of Stephen and Daisy Bellack. She retired from the State of Illinois after more than 30 years of service. After retirement, Cheryl worked as a realtor with ME Realty for many years. Cheryl had a bright light and she let that shine in everything she did. She loved people and never knew a stranger. After one conversation with Cheryl you became fast friends. She had a colorful personality and sense of style. She loved bright colors and outfits and you hardly ever saw her without sparkly jewelry. Cheryl loved painting, gardening, and bird watching. She loved coffee and drank it no matter the time of day. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons Stephen (Connie) Sampson and Shawn Sampson and grandchildren: Halen Sampson (Madisyn), McKenna Sampson, Raquel Rice, Gretchyn Brosamer, Dusty Allen (Shelby) and their daughter Maeve, and Courtney Sutton and her daughters Kinley and Kora.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
