Cheryl Ann Simpson
November 6, 1958 – April 7, 2025
Cheryl Ann Simpson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 66 years old.
Born on November 6, 1958, to Jack and Ione Heupel, Cheryl grew up with a deep love for family, creativity, and caring for others. She was known for her gentle spirit, dry sense of humor, and immense compassion.
A dedicated stay-at-home mom for many years, Cheryl later pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. Earning her RN degree later in life, she found her calling in home health care, where she touched countless lives with her empathy, patience, and kindness. Her patients and their families often spoke of her with deep gratitude, describing her as a calm and reassuring presence during difficult times.
Cheryl had a lifelong passion for crafting, especially sewing and knitting. Her handmade gifts warmed not only the bodies but the hearts of those she loved. She was also an exceptional cook and baker, with recipes that will continue to be cherished for generations.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Scott; her children, Haley (Frank) and Mason (Tessa); and her beloved granddaughter, Melody, who brought her immeasurable joy. Cheryl will be dearly missed by her siblings, Lynn Heupel (Jeff), Christine Heupel, and Mark Heupel (Linda); her sister in law, Paula Heupel; her sisters in law, Hope and Peggy; her brothers in law, Kurt and Mark; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Caryn; her parents, Jack and Ione Heupel; her brother, Donald; and her in laws, Mark and Margaret Simpson.
Friends and family are invited to gather at the Unitarian church 1313 Main Street on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. to celebrate Cheryl's life. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 P.M.
Cheryl's warmth, humor, and quiet strength left a lasting imprint on everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A Friend

I was the first one to welcome Cheryl to a new school at Mac Arthur grade school. She cried so hard that day and it was bitter cold out. I thought her eyes would freeze shut and told her that to make her laugh! We were friends from then on until graduation from Southwest when we lost track of each other.
She was a wonderful person and I wish I had known somehow that she passed away sooner. Condolences to her family and current friends. RIP Cheryl!

Missing a wonderful gal many years ago from Southwest High. She was in my homeroom and was a sure delight as well as a great disco dancer at the "Night Club." We loved her sense of humor. RIP.

Very sorry for the loss of Cheryl. I worked with her for her last 5 years at St.Vincent Home Health. She was a great nurse ,calm and compassionate are the words I think of when I think of her. I knew she was battling cancer as I randomly ran into her around the hospital. She was a fighter and gave it all she had. I will miss her she was a special person. Rest easy my friend.

So surprised to hear of Cheryl´s passing. She was a wonderful nurse and friend I had the pleasure to work with at St. V´s Home Health Care. Her compassionate care she provided for her patients and the constant support and encouragement she gave us coworkers will always be remembered. Gone too soon, rest in peace, we will miss you

I only met dear Cheryl a couple years ago while knitting at the Attic. She kindly welcomed me to join her neighborhood knitting group and I invited her to the larger Green Bay wide group too. Cheryl´s gentle spirit blessed many of us. I am so sorry for her passing.
