Cheryl Denise Smith, age 65, a cherished member of the Columbus, Ohio community, born on January 7, 1959, in Springfield, Ohio to Ernestine Smith and Arthur (Buster) Crossley. Cheryl's untimely departure occurred on March 16, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio.
In her younger years, Cheryl's family relocated to Columbus, OH where she attended Franklin Jr. High and East High School. She was known for her homebody nature. She enjoyed her moments of relaxation watching her favorite show, 'Blue Monday', on Mondays while sipping on a rum and coke in the comfort of her kitchen. Despite her battles with illness later in life, Cheryl maintained her grace and strength, finding solace in laughter and the company of her loved ones.
Cheryl leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and the joy she found in cooking, styling hair, and ear piercing.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ernestine Smith; father, Arthur Crossley; stepfather, Donald Smith Sr.; brothers, Donald Smith Jr., Anthony Smith, and Tyrone Lasley; sister, Teresa Cooper; and ex-husband, Walter Trammell II.
Though Cheryl has left this world, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be greatly missed by her children, Anthony Smith, Walter Trammell III and Amber Trammell; her devoted sister and caregiver, Patricia Smith; brothers, Thomas (Rhonda) Smith Sr., Arthur Crossley Jr., Bruce Crossley, Von Crossley; grandchildren, Trevon, Kamaya, Omarion, Savanna, Arliyah; uncle, Dale Vance; special aunts, Lucy Simms and Joyce Isley; brother-in-law, Raymond Trammell; special friend, Sherrie "Minnie" Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Cheryl was known for her resilience and her favorite saying, "Fine so far," capturing her spirit even in the face of adversity. May she rest in peace.
