Michael Cannon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Coyle Funeral and Cremation Services - Toledo on Mar. 6, 2026.
Michael Frederick Cannon, 84, of Toledo, passed away at his home March 2, 2026. He was born February 6, 1942 in Toledo, OH to the late Dean Bernard and Lillian (Holland) Cannon. Mike was a 1960 graduate of Macomber High School in Toledo, Ohio and attended Wittenburg University in Springfield, Ohio. Mike married Sara Jane Kennedy on May 31, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio.

Mike managed a corporate print shop for Questor/AP Parts and became a business owner of the Graphics Group, a commercial print shop on Erie Street in Toledo. He sold the Graphics Group and retired at the age of 70.

Mike wrestled in high school and also in college at Wittenburg and then became a high school wrestling official of note in the Toledo and surrounding area for many years. He was an active participant of Mudjaw Bowman archery club. He loved bow hunting, taking bear and elk hunting trips with friends and family, and just being at "the cabin" with his brothers, sons, grandsons, and friends during deer season each year. For many years Mike was an active member and deacon at Covenant United Presbyterian Church before it closed in 2004. In retirement Mike loved woodworking for family and always had projects he was working on for some lucky recipient. Mike volunteered delivering meals to seniors for Mobile Meals of Toledo until his last year of life, and he was an ardent and proud life-long blood donor to the Toledo-area American American Red Cross. Most of all, he loved spending time and taking family vacations with his wife and family. Mike is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sara; three sons, Ken (June) Cannon, Tim Cannon, and Chris Cannon; grandchildren, Michael Cannon, Caleb (Olivia) Cannon, Kyle (Danay) Cannon, Ryan (Kate) Cannon, Rachael (Jerry) Cannon, and Ruthie Cannon; four great-grandsons, Emerson, Rory, Sawyer, and Roman Cannon.

He is also survived by his siblings, Tom (Pat) Cannon, Sue (Brian) Corlett, Paul (Louise) Cannon, Sally Wells, and Dean (Elizabeth) Cannon. Mike was preceded in death by five siblings, Mary (Richard) Bolander, Ronald (Jackie) Cannon, Bruce (Pat) Cannon, Elizabeth Cannon Knapp and Jack (Lily) Cannon.

COYLE FUNERAL HOME, 1770 South Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43614 has been entrusted with his cremation. Please consider making a blood donation in Mike's memory to the Toledo American Red Cross Blood and Platelet Donation Center, 3510 Executive Parkway, Toledo, OH 43603, 1-800-American Red Cross.

In accordance with Mike's wishes, he will be cremated and no formal memorial service will be held. His family and friends will gather for a small celebration of his life at the end of March.
