Thaddeus "Ted" Bienko Jr. passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by his family. Ted was born October 11, 1950, to Thaddeus and Alice (Skolmowski) Bienko, raised in Toledo, Ohio. He Graduated from Macomber High School in 1968 and worked at Champion Spark Plug for 25 years where he met the love of his life and partner in crime Connie. Ted was also a volunteer firefighter with the Northwood Fire Department for 11 years. After Champion closed, Ted answered a new calling and proudly served the Toledo community as a firefighter for 20 years before retiring.
Outside of work, Ted cherished time with his family and enjoyed playing golf with friends. "Papa Ted" especially loved supporting his grandchildren at their activities and sporting events. He was a big kid at heart, who had a huge sense of humor, enjoyed keeping up with the latest gaming technology, and was a big foodie. Ted was caring, generous, and deeply devoted to those he loved. He would do anything for his family and friends; Ted was always just a phone call away for anyone in need. His spirit, love, and kindness will forever echo in our hearts. He will be dearly missed.
Ted is survived by his loving wife Connie (Labiak) Bienko, of 43 years, Sister-in-Law Judy Labiak, Children: Thaddeus Bienko III (Roxanne), Erica Bienko, Step Children: Amy (Eric) Palmer, Lisa Evans, Rachel (Aloise) Hallock- Strzelecki, Dominick Kallil, Grandchildren: Isabella Bienko, Noah Bienko, Preston Evans, Isabel Palmer and Alex Palmer, Siblings: James Bienko, Kathleen (Ray) Vining, Michael (Michelle) Bienko, Marie (Ron) Lauman, Stanley Bienko; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Thaddeus M. Bienko and Alice T. Bienko; Brother Thomas Bienko, Sister Patricia Albaugh, Brother-in-law Jerald Ritz, Niece Jennel Lauman Castro, and Nephew Robert Vining.
Friends and family will be received Monday, February 23, 2026 from 3- 7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E.
