Cheryl Elaine Venable, born March 2, 1949, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, passed away on February 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 76 years old.
Cheryl was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Walter and Emily Weber. She attended Metuchen Highschool and Susquehanna University and later made her home in Highland Lakes, New Jersey. She retired from The Chadler Group in Fairfield, NJ.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Venable; her children, Keith Scharwath (Alissa Walker) and Kara Scharwath; her stepdaughter, Ashley Obolensky (Alex Obolensky); her grandchildren, Avery and Oscar Scharwath; and her step-grandchildren, Michael and David Obolensky. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Emily Kertscher, and her mother-in-law, Mardella Venable. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Emily Weber.
Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She valued family above all and was a steady, supportive presence throughout her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.
A talented artist, Cheryl loved to draw, color and paint and she shared her gift of art and creativity with those closest to her. She found great joy in her beloved cats, Smokey and Stevie.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her sense of humor, and her beautiful spirit.
