Cheryl A. Whitling

Cheryl A. Whitling, 65, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025. She was born in Pittsburgh to Daniel and Florence Siebert on Feb. 15, 1960. Florence always said Cheryl was her belated Valentine's Day gift. She worked at Austin's Bleach Company, which is where she met the man who would become her husband, Eugene W. Whitling. Cheryl and Eugene wed on Sept. 11, 1982, and they truly were happily married until her husband, Eugene, lost his battle with cancer on Dec. 12, 2013. After Eugene passed, she had to find herself again. Cheryl moved to Delmont to be close with family. She also found a new chosen family and a reinvigorated spiritual relationship at her church, which brought her a great deal of comfort. Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Nicole Rau; her bonus daughters, Lisa Day and Melvina Rapp; her siblings, Patricia Coon, Gene Coon, Nancy Pfeifer, Daniel Siebert, Florence Whewell, and Carol Davison-Fogel; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her grandchildren. Family and friends are encouraged to attend a celebration of life for Cheryl at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 East Pittsburgh St., Delmont, PA 15626.
