Cheryn Abbas Smith, 50, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Amber Dawn Smith and her father, John Michael Abbas.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kevin Smith; two daughters: Morgan Brooke Scott (Kameron) of Hope Mills, Cynthia Lauren Smith of Fayetteville; grandchild, Markus William Scott of Hope Mills; parents, Mary Janet and René Blanc of California; sister, Michelle Abbas (Lisa) of Colorado; two sister-in-laws: Dannette Sessoms (James) of Lumberton, Celia Billups (Larry) of Elizabethtown; brother-in-law, Henry Allen Smith of Garland and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cheryn was employed with the Cumberland County Schools. She was known for her caring and kind spirit, which made her always ready to help when needed. Cheryn's greatest enjoyment came from doing things for others, but especially for her beloved daughters and grandchild. She had a gift for floral arrangements, crafts and decorating. She enjoyed using all these for any family event and anything her daughters were involved in at school, church, etc.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-1:45pm on Thursday, June 19th at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Lumberton with a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. Pastor Jeff Broadwell and Pastor Leroy Burke will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Godwin, NC.
