Chester Roy Gordon, Jr.
Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Covenant HealthCare – Harrison, with his family at his side. Age 83 years.
The son of the late Chester Roy Sr. and Flora Irene (Skinner) Gordon, Chester was born on August 29, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1959. Chester proudly served in the United States Army. He married Mary Elizabeth Jolin on October 30, 1965; she preceded him in death on January 3, 1994. Chester later met and married Judith “Judy” Ann (Tack) Faber in 2004, she preceded him in death on April 22, 2016. He worked at General Motors, retiring after 35 years of loyal and dedicated service. He found solace in the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. He played softball well into his sixties, and following his retirement, he picked up golfing in his spare time. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
Surviving are his sons and daughter, Todd Michael (Traci) Gordon, Aaron David (Donna) Gordon, Melissa Ann (JR) Babcock; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren with one on the way; and sister, Irene Gordon. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends. Besides his wives, and his parents; Chester was preceded in death by his son, Scott Joseph Gordon.
Funeral will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, where Military Honors will take place under the auspices of the United States Army and the American Legion Post 439. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 a.m. on Monday until the time of the service at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw County Animal Care & Control.
