Chester Charles Weaver Sr., 8777 Molly Pitcher Hwy., Shippensburg, Pennsylvania died October 23, 2024 at the age of 96 years and 3 days. He was born October 20,1928, to Samuel R. and Leah (Hertzler) Weaver. He married Esther (Rudolph) Weaver in May 1952
Chester was a member of the Churchtown Mennonite Church and was a farmer all of his life.
He is survived by four sons, Chester Jr. and wife Barbara of Itasca, Texas. Ethan and wife, Ruby of Newville, Pennsylvania, Curtis and wife Janice of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Nevin and wife Crystal, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and two daughters, Rosemary and husband Dale Heller of Metter, Georgia, and Edith, and husband, Jason Lauver of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are 48 grandchildren, 136 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. One sister, Bertha Martin of Mount Joy also survives.
In addition to his wife, Esther, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Weaver, and two grandchildren Nolan Lauver and Samuel Heller.
A viewing will be held on Sunday October 27, 2024 at the Mountain View Mennonite Church from 1:00 to 4 PM and 6:00 PM to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 28,2024 at the Mountain View Mennonite Church at 10:00 AM with the brethren, John Brubaker, David Brubaker, Wilbur Shank, and Wendall Eberly officiating,
Burial will be in the Churchtown Mennonite Cemetery.
