Chloe Ann Stewart, 83, of Bethel, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on January 1, 1942, in Bethel to the late Rex Reagan Crouch and Ruth Myers Crouch. Chloe was a graduate of Sharpsburg High School class of 1959. She continued her pursuit of education, obtaining both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Morehead State University.
Chloe dedicated 33 years of her life to teaching at Bethel Elementary School, where she inspired countless students with her love for learning and her unwavering commitment to their education. Her impact on the lives of those around her extended beyond the classroom; she served others selflessly and significantly contributed to her community.
She was deeply connected to her heritage as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, reflecting her passion for history and civic duty. In her personal time, Chloe enjoyed a variety of hobbies, from reading and completing word finds to tackling jigsaw puzzles. She also found joy in mowing the lawn and playing the piano, activities that brought her comfort and fulfillment.
In addition to her parents, Chloe was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Walter and Lucille Stewart, her sister-in-law, Helen Jean Snedegar as well as her brothers-in-law, JC Watts, Milton Taylor Wilson and Bobby Snedegar.
Chloe is survived by her husband, Billy Stewart, whom she married on April 4, 1964. She leaves behind one daughter, Dr. Anne Stewart DeMott (Curt) of Lexington, as well as a sister, Patsy Watts. The family tree also includes a niece, Tricia Collier (John), and four nephews: Tom Watts (Stephaine), Bruce T. Wilson (Dee), Dr. Ben Wilson (Sharon), and Stewart Thomas Snedegar (Mary Glenna). Chloe was also blessed with the love and support of her sister-in-law, Mary Bruce Wilson, and special friends Katie Yoder, Rhonda Barnett, Barbara Clemons, Jerry Oney, and the entire Sharpsburg High School class of 1959.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at First Christian Church in Mt Sterling, Kentucky, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM with Dr. Scott Holley and Pastor Johnny Baber officiating.
Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church in Mt. Sterling.
Pallbearers include, Patrick Collier, John Will Collier, Tom Watts, Brody Watts, Walter Shrout, David Yoder, Dr. Ben Wilson and Stewart Thomas Snedegar.
Honorary pallbearers include, Billy Hunt, The Myers', Crouch and Rice cousins.
